STEPHANIE MOWDER
Creativity. Innovation. (Com)passion.
When someone asks what I want to do with my life, my response is "Save the world." You change the world by changing one person at a time. I want to inspire others. I believe positive thoughts create positive outcomes. I value creativity, innovation and knowledge. I am passionate about living according to those values. My experience as an athlete has had a profound effect on my identity and my worldview, and has provided me with valuable skills, insights and opportunities.
WHAT I DO
Blur the edges of your profession; dabbling in adjacent fields can only deepen your understanding and improve your work. Doing so many different things that you no longer know what to call yourself is a good thing!
So here's how I see it:
I’m not your average young professional. Actually, I’m not really your average anything. My background, while extensive, is anything but traditional. My career experience ranges from running youth programs to flipping burgers to working in a law office, along with countless other bullet points on my resume. From cashier to copywriter to camp cousellor, I could be the poster child of the non-linear career path.

I am the co-chair of annual Brock Rowing Annual Gala, and have been since its inception. This position has awarded me valuable experience, such as event planning, fundraising and successful grant proposal-writing. After graduating from Brock University, I founded the Brock Rowing Alumni Association, an alumni group dedicated to networking and fundraising for past and present Brock Rowing athletes.
